This series has been inspired partly by UN Force Commander Roméo Dallaire's experiences during the 1990’s Rwanda genocide and by my own growing awareness of child abuses occurring in so many locations. Practices of drugging, brainwashing, molesting and indoctrination by many societies ensure a ready multitude of very young and vicious 'soldiers', passionately willing to follow the direction of whatever dictator their cult idolizes. A criminal and inhuman misuse of under-educated, needy, misguided children.
At this time in the earth's history, the grotesquely manipulated child is the ultimate weapon of warfare. As far as I’m aware at this time, there are 51 societies worldwide transforming innocent children into weapons. In my opinion, the ultimate inhumanity of humanity is demonstrated in the picture of a brainwashed child with an AK47.

This is an allegorical image portraying a boy for whom the joys of childhood are beyond reach, ever behind the barrier of violence in which his life is lived. The small machine gun emphasizes the actual reality of the restrictive walls around him, through which an alternative existence is barely conceivable.

A girl-child discards her cuddly toy to follow visions of lipstick-gold guns offering a path to perceived power and glory. The reality of her cradled machine gun is brutal, phallic and jarringly inappropriate given the fragility and innocence/ignorance of her youth.
